Sept. 21 - Four St. Paul medic units were summoned to a shooting scene in Frogtown Friday evening.
Medic 18 was dispatched to 597 Thomas Ave. for a shooting victim about 8:50 p.m. While they were staged for police to clear the scene, Ramsey County dispatchers also alerted Medic 22 and 8 with Chief 2 as several reports indicated at least three victims.
After units were cleared into the scene and started treating victims, Medic 18 requested a fourth medic to the scene for one with minor graze wounds and Medic 10 was assigned.
Medics 18, 8 and 22 transported three victims to Regions Hospital with varying injuries. It is unknown if Medic 10 transported anyone.
A few minutes after this call was dispatched, St. Paul firefighters were dispatched to a reported apartment fire at Marshall Avenue and Wheeler Street. Companies went on scene with smoke inside the two-story building.
Firefighters found food on the stove and companies remained on scene to evacuate smoke from the structure.
