Aug. 15 - Roseville firefighters extricated a woman after her car slammed into the rear of a fuel delivery truck early Tuesday morning.
The duty crew was dispatched to County Road C and Long Lake Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries around 3 a.m.
Units found a passenger car that had rear-ended a fuel tanker truck that was traveling in the eastbound lanes. The car was lodged under the rear bumper of the truck and the lone female occupant of the vehicle was trapped by the extensive front end damage.
The fuel tanker was carrying several thousand gallons of fuel oil, creating additional hazards for both the trapped driver and firefighters working on scene and an all-call was sounded for additional crews.
A firefighter entered the vehicle to begin patient care as others began stabilizing both vehicles.
Crews worked for 20 minutes to cut the vehicle around the woman before she was freed.
Allina EMS crews transported the woman to an area hospital and firefighters remained on scene for two hours to assist Roseville and St. Anthony police officials.
