June 29 – Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View (SBM) crews responded to a large natural gas line leaking at the intersection of Highway 65 and 105th Avenue around 9:45 a.m. today.
SBM crews arrived to find a large gas line that was damage during a boring construction project causing natural gas to leak into the area.
Fire crews closed down Northbound Highway 65 and 105th Avenue traffic for the remainder of the morning and into the early afternoon, causing significant traffic issues for commuters.
Fire crews evacuated adjacent buildings, monitored air quality and assisted utility companies to mitigate this incident.
