Sept. 22 – An intense fire consumed a large shed in the back yard of a Fridley residence Thursday night.
Fire crews were called to 500 block of Cheri Lane at 7:46 p.m. for a possible shed fire that was reported as attached to a garage. All three Fridley stations were alerted.
Police were first to arrive and found a fully involved shed and notified incoming fire units that a hydrant was located across the street.
Engine 3, with Captain 20, arrived and secured a water supply. The crew stretched a 2-1/2 hoseline to battle the large volume of fire.
Video from Fridley Patch show flames leaping into the night sky before firefighters arrived.
The radiant heat burned a large area of grass around the structure, a tree and damaged a nearby garage.
The fire was placed under control at 8:01 p.m. and all units were in service by 10 p.m.
